Hi, I’m Tarryn. I am an artist interested in capturing and sharing the natural wonders around us. I have a degree in marine science and my day job is in environmental policy.

My artwork tends to focus on the species and places I love and I like to celebrate the opportunity to connect with them. I like to work in all sorts of media, but my favourites are gouache, watercolour, pencil, lino or photography.

Based in Australia, much of my work captures moments I’ve experienced exploring the coastline and other parts of this amazing country, but I also like to make art from my travels overseas.

My interests in work and art include things from natural history and ecology to sustainability and climate change adaptation. I have a particular soft spot for shark and ray ecology, seagrasses and seaweed, so these feature in a lot of my artwork.

I almost always have a sketchbook and a pencil in my bag - just in case. I like to work plein air or from my own references taken on a trusty old Olympus TG6, a Lumix G9 or my phone.
